Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, president of Mapúa University, and Isabelita Marcelo Abele, member of the board of trustees of Rowan University, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on October 12, 2018, to establish collaborative research projects in both universities.

Deans and officers of the administration of Mapúa and Rowan University discussed the possible projects to be conducted in the duration of the five-year long partnership.


Resiliency modeling, smart emergency response system to disaster, and transportation engineering related researches were the agreed projects to be developed in the universities.

Mapúa’s School of Civil, Environmental, and Geological Engineering (CEGE), School of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IE-EMG), School of Information Technology (SoIT), School of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering (EECE), and the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (MME) are the potential participating schools in the start-up research collaboration with Rowan University.
