Resona Group of Japan donates to Yolanda victims through RCBC

The fourth largest financial service group in Japan, Resona Holdings, Inc., recently donated to the victims of super typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines. The Group’s donation was turned over to its partner institution in the country, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), whose relief efforts are being coursed through the AY Foundation, Inc. (AYF), the philanthropic arm of the bank’s parent conglomerate, the Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC). The Resona Group’s employee association known as “Re: Hearts Club” spearheaded the fund-raising campaign. RCBC has had strong business relations with the Resona Group since it forged a business cooperation agreement with the Group’s Resona Bank in March 2012. This partnership allowed RCBC to support Japanese SME companies operating and planning to invest in the country by providing financial services such as loans, and opening accounts through the bank’s Japanese Business Relationship Office. Just recently, RCBC partnered with two more banks under the Resona Group – Saitama Resona Bank Ltd. and The Kinki Osaka Bank Ltd. An executive from Resona Bank will now also be serving as a consultant for RCBC to further support Japanese businesses in the country. Left photo shows (from left): RCBC President and CEO Lorenzo V.
