A recent survey has revealed that graduates of Mapúa University are among the highest-paid professionals in the Philippines. Of six employment levels that ranged from fresh graduates to top executives, Mapúans were deemed top-earners in three.
Conducted by online publication Entrepreneur Philippines and online employment portal Jobstreet.com Philippines, the survey used self-reported average salaries of users of Jobstreet.com. It limited the rankings to the 15 schools with the most number of graduates among Jobstreet.com users.
Besting other top schools in the country, Mapúa alumni bagged the highest recorded average monthly salary for employees with one to four years’ experience, supervisors or employees with experience of five years or more, and assistant managers or managers. Mapua fresh graduates and non-executibve level employees, on the other hand, received the second highest average monthly salary.
The poll also revealed the top five specializations or fields of work by the schools’ graduates. For Mapúa, 9.7% of graduates were involved with computer software development, while about 8.5% were in civil, construction, or structural engineering. The top five is rounded out by Mapúa graduates who are in network, system, or database administration (7.5%), manufacturing or production operations (6.1%), and customer service (4.7%).
